235J2WP weathering steel plate is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel plate with excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance. It is based on ordinary carbon steel and adds a certain amount of alloy elements, such as copper (Cu), phosphorus (P), chromium (Cr) and nickel (Ni). Chemical composition: Carbon (C) content usually does not exceed 0.16%; Silicon (Si) content generally does not exceed 0.45%; Manganese (Mn) content is between 0.15%-0.70%; Phosphorus (P) content does not exceed 0.04%; Sulfur (S) content does not exceed 0.035%; Chromium (Cr) content is 0.35%-0.85%; Copper (Cu) content is 0.20%-0.60%;
Nickel (Ni) content does not exceed 0.7%.
Features: By adding a certain amount of copper (Cu), phosphorus (P), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni) and other alloy elements to the steel, a dense and stable oxide protective film is formed on the surface of the substrate, which can effectively hinder the entry of corrosive media, thus having excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance. In industrial and rural atmospheric environments, the weather resistance of this steel plate is 2-8 times that of ordinary carbon steel.
Application areas: It is often used to manufacture steel structures exposed to the atmospheric environment for a long time, such as bridges (including cross-sea bridges), railway vehicles, pillars and load-bearing beams of industrial and civil buildings, various alloy structures and their components, structural parts of various engineering machinery, hulls, offshore oil platforms, platform pipe joints and other structural parts. It can also be used to make various structural parts that work in the atmospheric environment and corrosive gases and liquids.
