Chemical composition: Carbon (C) content usually does not exceed 0.16%. Silicon (Si) content generally does not exceed 0.45%.
Manganese (Mn) content is between 0.15% - 0.70%. Phosphorus (P) content does not exceed 0.04%.
Sulfur (S) content does not exceed 0.035%.
Mechanical properties: Yield strength is not less than 235MPa when the thickness is less than or equal to 16mm.
Tensile strength is usually between 360 - 510MPa. The elongation is good, with certain plasticity and toughness.
Weather resistance: By adding specific alloy elements, such as copper (Cu), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), etc., it can form a stable rust layer in the atmospheric environment, effectively preventing further corrosion, and the weather resistance is 2 - 8 times that of ordinary carbon steel.
Application areas: Commonly used in the manufacture of steel structures exposed to the atmospheric environment for a long time, such as bridges, towers, railway vehicles, containers, etc., and also suitable for some building structures that require weather resistance.
