The chemical composition of S355ML mainly includes carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S) and a small amount of alloying elements. Specifically, the carbon content is between 0.12~0.20%, the silicon content should not exceed 0.5%, and the manganese content is in the range of 0.40~1.65%. The phosphorus and sulfur contents are both controlled below 0.035%. In addition, S355ML also contains a small amount of alloying elements, such as chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), molybdenum (Mo), etc., as well as trace amounts of Nb, V, Ti, etc. These alloying elements can enhance the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of steel.
S355ML has the characteristics of high strength, high toughness, good welding performance and corrosion resistance. Its yield strength reaches 355MPa, and its tensile strength is as high as 470-630MPa, which is much higher than the strength level of ordinary carbon structural steel. At the same time, S355ML has excellent toughness and can maintain good mechanical properties in low temperature environments. In addition, S355ML also has good welding performance, is easy to carry out various welding processes, and the strength and toughness of the welded joints can also be guaranteed.
